Thank you for this very good and useful essay. It makes me think about my own approach to writing, although I am not at all in the line of personal writing or giving any kind of advice. But what you say about writing as construction is very true for any kind of writing!

This is a great read. I’ve never been interested in writing about my past just to get sympathy. I want people to walk away with something that actually helps them grow. That’s what makes writing worthwhile.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
